"Other persons of no background"

This passage is written again from the older Scout, the one who has seen alot and now has a slightly ironic and cycical outlook. She is talking about Miss Caroline in a mocking way, almost as if she making fun of her . Miss Caroline has just written her name on the blackboard, for the class to see, and she then told the class that she came from North Alabama. Scout begins to think about the history of Northern Alabamans then goes on to say that North Alabama was full of people with no background. In actual fact the people that Scout says have no background and are unimportant actually are. The people such as professors, republicans and big mules, all have a good background and are all very important people who matter to society and the community.
